You don’t have to have it all figured out. Seriously.
Life can be weird. Messy. Heavy. Beautiful. Confusing. Sometimes all at once.
Life can be messy, confusing, overwhelming—and sometimes you just know something needs to change.
At The Journey, therapy is a space to slow things down, feel understood, and make sense of where you are and where you want to go next. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, depression, substance use, relationships, identity, or a major life transition, we’ll work together to find a path forward that feels like you.
No perfect answers. No judgment. No need to have it all together.
You bring the messy. We’ll figure out the rest.
“Every setback has something to teach you.
Keep moving forward.”
Hi, I’m Kate! (she/her)
MA, LCAS, LCMHC-QS, MT-BC, CCS
Therapy is a journey. It’s just not supposed to feel like a road trip you have to take alone.
Hey, I’m Kate — therapist, clinical supervisor, and the human behind The Journey.
I believe therapy should feel like a place where you can take off the mask, ditch the “I’m fine,” and show up as your actual self. No pretending. No having it all figured out. No gold stars for holding everything together.
I work with adults navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, overwhelm, substance use, relationships, identity, and all the wonderfully messy stuff that comes with being human. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and a little less “here’s what you should do” and a lot more “let’s figure this out together.”
A little different. A lot more human.
The Journey provides virtual therapy exclusively for adults in North Carolina and South Carolina, making it possible to get meaningful support from wherever you feel most comfortable.
Maybe you’re stuck. Maybe you’re overwhelmed. Maybe life looks completely different than you thought it would. Or maybe nothing is technically “wrong,” but something just doesn’t feel right.
Whatever brings you here, you don’t need to have the perfect words — or even know exactly what you need.
That’s part of the journey.
Together, we’ll slow things down, get curious about what’s really going on, untangle some of the knots, and make space for more clarity, connection, confidence, and you.
Because you’re not a diagnosis, a checklist, or a problem to fix.
You’re a whole person with a story. And your story deserves space.
Ready to start your next chapter?
Let’s take the first step together.
Therapy should fit the person—not the other way around.
I don’t do cookie-cutter therapy. Your experiences, your pace, and what feels helpful to you shape our work together.
My approach is:
Compassionate, never judgmental
Come as you are. No shame. No pretending.
Trauma-aware + emotionally safe
We’ll explore the hard stuff without rushing or forcing it.
Practical + reflective
We’ll talk it out and find tools that actually work in real life.
Curious, not corrective
You’re not broken, and you don’t need to be fixed. We’ll get curious about what’s happening and where you want to go next.
No fixing. No forcing. Just figuring it out—together.
Therapy, wherever you are.
Virtual-only therapy for the real life you’re already living. Meet from the comfort of your own space, on a schedule that works for you.
Simple. Flexible. No commute required.
Take the first step
Starting therapy can feel daunting, but you don’t have to have the right words or a clear goal to begin.
If you’re curious about working together, I invite you to book a consultation or get in touch with any questions.
